Zac Brown Band Makes History at The ’Brook

Press Releases - July 1, 2010

For the first time in the history of the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion, an artist will be performing back-to-back shows. The venue will host The Zac Brown Band on July 18 in a sold out show and again on July 19, 2010, as part of the Eastern Propane Concert Series.

“Zac Brown Band shattered all of our records for the July 18 show and we were still getting calls asking for tickets; so, we are adding a second show said RJ Harding, president of the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion.”

The Zac Brown Band first single, Chicken Fried, reached number one on the country charts in 2008. In 2009 the band released its second single Whatever It Is. This song reached Top Five on the country charts and Top 40 on the pop charts. In mid 2009, a third single, Toes was released which became their second number one hit. Highway 20 Ride is the album’s fourth single.

Zac Brown Band received four nominations for the 2009 CMA Awards including New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for Chicken Fried. They also received three Grammy nominations for Best Country Album, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, and Best New Artist. The band won the award for Best New Artist becoming the fifth country artist to win Best New Artist. The group was also nominated for three ACM awards; “Album of the Year”, “Top Vocal Group”, and is one of the eight contenders for “Entertainer of the Year”.
